Note the toll pass, it is in there for a reason. I love using this Willys as my commuter for work. It has all the features of any late model SUV, drives just as easy, everything works and has a killer stereo. All the other commuters take notice when this bright Canary yellow Willys shows up in their rear view mirror and they get out of the way just so they can see it go bye with thumbs up. I always arrive to work with a smile on my face when I drive the WIllys; what a great way to start the day. I bet all those other SUV drivers wish they had this.
The Willys starts with no blue smoke or hesitation. It drives true without pulling or vibration. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the four wheel drive works. The best way to envision this vehicle is to imagine you are driving a 1990 Chevy S-10, with a better stereo and in good condition. The only difference is the cool factor of the bright yellow Willys Wagon body sitting on it.
The body is in great shape. There is no rust. The floorboards are solid, as are the fender wells, and all the other usual locations. As you can see from the pictures, the panels are straight and in good condition. The paint is in good driver condition.
The engine compartment is clean, but as with the rest of the vehicle should be considered a driver. The only known problems with the vehicle are a small leak of what appears to be power steering fluid, and the A/C blower cuts off after 30 minutes or so when it is 100 degrees outside. Both of these items have been smaller than I wanted to bother with at this point. Oh...and the old gal rattles a bit near the tailgate
I've had a lot of fun with it, but I'm downsizing and bought a truck to haul building materials. The addition of the truck has us with four vehicles and a three car garage. I have been keeping it on a battery tender because I wasn't driving it that much and decided it was time to find a new home for her. So now she can be yours. I'm sure you will have as much fun driving this classic around as I have. Most people don't even know what it is. :-)
