1966 Volvo 1800S Additional Info:
California/Arizona car. There is absolutely NO RUST, which is something of a rarity with the p1800/1800s.
Everything works (except the clock of course). All gauges, lights, signals, wipers, and heater function perfectly. Needs nothing mechanically - motor/trans/brakes all in excellent working condition (including overdrive). It drives wonderfully. The motor has a ton of pep and is tuned perfectly. Idle is smooth and even. Probably not driven more than 500 miles in the last two years. I have a video of the car idling (available on request).
The SU carbs have been replace with a Weber carb (for performance and reliabilty), the original brake booster has been removed, the carpet and seats have been replaced/reupholstered (recently), and the original windshield was replaced (sans trim). The original radio was replaced with a retro style Bluetooth head unit dual 6x4 speakers in the rear.
Recent work includes:- Brand new Weber carb and calibration kit- New control arm bushings, lower ball joints, tie rods, and sway bar links- New tires- New carpet- New windshield- New battery, ignition points, ignition condenser, steering coupler, spark plugs, heater tubes- Replaced entire exhaust system- Replaced clutch master and slave cylinders, brake fluid drained and refilled- New Retro Manufacturing model 2 radio, chrome bezel, Becker style knob set, and new speakers- Oil change, all fluids and belts checked and topped off
Recent receipts totaling $5000.00 in the last two years in repairs and replacement parts. Original SU carbs, radio, and windshield trim included with the sale.
According to the trim tag, the car was originally light blue. The previous owner had it resprayed in AZ. He claimed it cost around 4K, but didn't have paperwork, so take that for what it's worth. Judging my the quality of the paint job, I would say that that is an accurate number.
The chrome around the grill has a few dings/dents, the piece over the rear license plate is pitted, and the trim around the windshield is off the car (will be included with the sale, but may not be recoverable, and the installer was not able to get it back on). Generally speaking the rest of the trim is in average condition. The original fog lights are a nice touch, but they're aren't currently hooked up, so they may or may not function.
Previous owner did not have any records, but records since purchase 2+ years ago are included (see above section/pics).
Local pick up is fine, or I am happy to help anyone arrange shipping through a bonded and insured shipping company for the winning bidder.
I'm assisting my father in law with the sale, both he and I are available to speak to any potential serious buyers. Send inquires with phone number and I will return promptly. Thanks for looking and best of luck bidding!
