1989 Volvo 240 Additional Info:
The Volvo 240 Sedan is one of the brand's most iconic models, and it's increasingly becoming sought-after as the people who were taken to school in one as a kid have started to have nostalgia for nice ones. This 240 touts weathered paint for that highly desirable Icon Derelict look.. It's a later example, so it features many of the updates that Volvo made to the 240 during a long production run, and it's pretty much unmodified, which is getting harder and harder to find. Only small spots of rust underneath the car and there are no rust holes anywhere on the body make this a good daily driver.
Highlights
THIS... is a 1989 Volvo 240 DL Sedan, finished in Grey with a gray interior.
- This sedan is equipped with the atomatic transmission.
- Car starts and drives without any problems.
- Only 82,378 miles on the car, this Volvos are known to last to 1,000,000 miles.
- The two previous owners were senior drivers, I’ve met with them. This car was not abused.
- Factory equipment includes cloth upholstery, power windows, air conditioning. The only modifications are CD Player with hands free phone connection and aftermarket aluminum wheels.
- The 240 is a mildly refreshed continuation of the 140-Series launched in 1966, and together they combined for a rather astonishing 27-year production run. The 240 "Brick" was offered in coupe (242), sedan (244), and wagon (245) form, and could be ordered with automatic or manual transmissions in a variety of trim levels. They all carried on Volvo's legendary reputation for safety and durability, and after many years toiling away as family haulers in the suburbs, these cars are beginning to command a healthy and dedicated enthusiast following.
- Power comes from a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine, rated at 114 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque. It spins the rear wheels via a automatic transmission.
