1985 Volvo 240 DL Additional Info:

4-door sedan. A/C works great and is the original (I found a guy to fill it with the old freon in Burbank). Roll-up manual windows. Cd player, radio. Disc brakes. Amazing turning radius. A blue tank with rubber bumpers She is not running since 2/4/19 - Needs a new battery - alternator, (see photo of AAA print out when they came to jump her on 2/4/19 for details of inspection) and - to pass smog. She failed smog because she needs a new gas cap and the thermostatic air cleaner was disconnected. She passed the emissions part (see photo of Smog Test report). But she died on me before I got these things fixed. I would take her to a mechanic and get a professional appraisal of what she needs. I'm going by the AAA guy. I've had for 11 years, 2nd owner. 109,000 miles. I have all service records since she was bought by my ex mother-in-law off of the Volvo lot in 1985. Decided to invest in newer car for my 50-mile commute. This girl has become too expensive to maintain as a daily driver rushing to work 80-miles an hour. I've poured money into the engine the last few years. But I'm reluctantly moving on. I have extra trim and parts from ebay, touch-up paint and even Volvo mechanic books that I'll throw in. Salvage title because someone rear-ended me 2 years ago with some minor body damage: - the rear bumper (pushed out of place but still attached. Trim ejected), - rear driver-side fender (slight bend barely visible) and a - cracked reflector attached to the front passenger-side headlight door (I bought a replacement on ebay I'll throw in). No frame or engine damage. I kept her and put the 3000 insurance gave me into: - 2 complete tail light assemblies (my lights were broken) with chrome trim - Front and rear struts & spring - brake pads and rotors - belts, hoses, etc, tie-rods, engine mounts, etc. I didn't give this car up and it was only salvage because fixing her body with real volvo parts cost more than her value. No frame or engine damage. I have the trim that fell off - if you end up repairing the body. I was saving up to have all dents removed and a paint job - but that became my down payment on my new car. Someone who knows something about older engines could do a lot with her. Or take her apart for parts. Or if you're willing to invest in restoring her because she's cool - this is a great car. Super hipster nerd chic. She's been loved, but I can't afford to give her the restoration she deserves. She's been sitting since February 4th 2019, but was driven daily as my only car until then. I now have new car.
