Offered is an extraordinary car. This 1968 Volvo 122 S has gradually been restored to better then new condition. The restoration process began in the 1990's while the car was in Germany. There over 30 000 Deutsch Marks (about $15 000) was spent for highly skilled German craftsmen to upgrade the engine to a B22 Motor and other improvement, including windshield, manifolds, suspension, instrument panel, carburetors etc. when the car arrived in the US in the early 2000's, the restoration process was advanced further (up to 2011)with more then $ 45 000 in additional improvements at various specialized locations around the US. The body work included more then 212 hours of preparation where the paint was stripped to bare metal and the body meticulously prepared for quality painting.Among other improvements, the transmission was upgraded to a manual transmission with overdrive, the brakes were upgraded to power disk brakes (all four wheels)and skilled workers performed quality upholstery work. Attention was given to detailing the engine compartment and dash. Wheels were upgraded, electrical work performed, and suspension components were given modern detailed attention. Air condition unit was added.
