1984 Volvo 240 Additional Info:
1 of 1200 imported. 1983 Volvo 245 GLT turbo/intercooled. 4-speed manual with overdrive. 90k Original miles, one owner before me. Exceptionally minimal rust, couple minor issues, nothing serious. These are the cars that regularly go for 400-500k miles. Manual tranny with OD. Still has manual, tool kits etc. BMW Vader front seats. 4-speed with overdrive, You will be hard-pressed to find one in better condition than this car for the age. Oh yeah, and it passes emissions with ease. Turbo replaced and exhaust by previous owner. All power windows work etc. Back window has started to spiderweb. Needs a wiper relay and AC recharge, but the rear wiper works. It's literally just sitting and not getting driven, after six months, I got in and it fired up immediately, even through winter. Sucks, but I got sick of trying to sell it. Basically brand new tires, less than 100-150 miles, if that. This would be an awesome car for someone that wants a sweet rarer 245, and wants to restore it back to perfectly clean with minimal work and expense. I am no mechanic, but am trying to describe everything accurately. Two patched rust spots by read wheel wells, and the worst is on the hatch, as shown. Underbody appears to be clean. Shifts smooth, and replaced clutch cable last year. The headliner is in great shape, as is the rear seat. The two front seat show some wear, but nothing awful. Could use a vacuum from sitting. The dash is cracked in a couple places. The odometer does work, and all gauges except the clock work. Clock might, but I might not know how to set it. Lights and all work. One piece of tiny edge trim fell off the front, but it is in the car.
Again, you are probably going to have to do a little work here, so if you want something to drive across the country, I can't tell you if this is the right one for you, as I am no mechanic. What I can tell you, is that this is cheaper than a damn Kia, and with a little work, you will have the best vehicle on the road, that will go for 1 million miles, so don't waste time, pick it up, fix it up a little bit and enjoy watching everyone break down around you while you get 30 miles to the gallon in the last car you will ever buy.
Needs to go this month, because we are moving out of the country. Tried selling this once before, had nothing but time wasters, received about a thousand emails, and had two people show up.
