1983 Volvo 240 DL Additional Info:
You are looking at a rust free, clean, and smooth running 1983 Volvo 242.My Volvo mechanic thinks this is one of the best top ten of the Volvo 240 series remaining on the road.Clean AZ title. The engine is strong and smooth, while the transmission shifts smoothly as it should. Overdrive also functions as it should. The Michelin Defenders have 95% of the tread remaining.I would not hesitate to drive the car long distances...be aware however that a car from this vintage should be inspected first by a qualified mechanic for long road trips. The heater blows hot as a Volvo 240 series heater should. The lower aspect of the front seats has been reupholstered in a strong, new material which is slightly lighter than the original seats but it looks really nice (photos)....note the sun exaggerates the lightness of the new material.Mechanical repairs completed within the past 2 years by my Volvo mechanic of 24 years: New Volvo radiator with Volvo Coolant Volvo 600amp Battery (5 yr warranty) New volvo expansion tank with radiator hose Valve cover gasket replaced and valves adjusted Brake fluid flushed Front end alignment New muffler and tail pipe Reseal PVC Box and repair split hoses Starter relay installed several wires repaired Front end ball joints replaced Speedometer changed (see above description) Regular oil changesAdditionally, the brakes are good and dependable, the emergency brake is secure and properly working. The glass is clear and free of cracks and/or stars. Original wheel trim with Caps and beauty rings (photos),light bulbs and lenses and intact and work as they should, no warning lights illuminated, original exterior molding are in esthetic condition and are attached firmly, the rear open swinging windows position properly and are great for continuous ventilation, the headliner is clean and untorn, 4 inch crack midway on the dashboard, small crack on the glove box, no coolant leakage, power steering functions as it should, the jack-tool-spare tire assembly is present and functional. Two ignition keys, two front door keys, and one trunk key included in the sale.Note: The paint is beautiful on observation. Several dings are noted as normal for a car of this age.The roof has scratches repaired in a "swirl" pattern...several streaks are repaired on the trunk. This is a gorgeous car and turns many heads!!!Sold as...no implied warranties.
