1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Baja Additional Info:
1971 vw street/offroad baja bug with lots of extras.
great 80s feel and super rad!
Runs, drives, and stops but has been sitting awhile. I have put on front tires and did a little work to get it going again but the next owner should go over it mechanically.
Front tires are new (no miles) and rear are over sized with plenty of tread. Has front and rear brush guard bumpers including rear engine cage and nerf guards. motor is a 1600cc dual port. 5spd trans. brakes have less than 1000 miles but have been sitting. Clutch and oil cooler are new including a fresh oil change. Original solex single carb was rebuilt a little over a year ago but could benefit from fine tuning. Battery was replaced about two years ago but has been sitting. Needs paint job, body work and some electrical. The electrical system is 12v but the wiring is a mess and will need cleaning up. Floor pans will need areas repaired as drivers side has two large holes; I am not sure if there are any others as I do not have a vehicle list and did not see any trying to craw under car or look inside. New rear torsion cover plates are included but will need to be installed to replace corroded originals shown in photo.
It is mileage exempt. Actual mileage unknown.
Interior is well worn with tears, dents, and flaws. Floor is covered in shag carpet.
Included is an uninstalled set of used bucket seats. I think they are leather but not positive. Not pictured.
Also included is a set of wheel adapters for 5 bolt wheels among a few other spare parts. The keys to the snowboard/ bike rack are lost but the keys/locks can be replaced. I will include a thule bike attachment not shown.
It's a really fun car to drive! thanks
