1966 Volkswagen Deluxe
A Beautiful Complete Restoration that has Received Awards at Every Show Attended
This ’66 Mouse Grey 13 Window Deluxe has undergone a complete restoration topreserveit's genuine Germanintegrityand “it is top notch - it’s a beautiful show room condition bus.” - That is a quote that came directly from the largest Volkswagen dealership in Maine while I was at their show last fall.
This restoration took several years to complete and it's evident. It has been a main attraction at all 4 events it has appeared at in New England. 4 shows - 5 awards, including 1st in class, Best of Show & Best Interior (at the largest VW show in Maine).
From top to bottom, front to back, inside and out - this bus is simply amazing.
Looks beautiful, and drives awesome.
This bus sports a brand new upgraded VW 1600 dual port engine coupled with a professionally rebuilt original transmission that has upgraded freeway gearing. The transmission was professionally built by Rancho, the best in the business, and it is backed with a 5 year unlimited mile warranty. The entire original swing-axle and both reduction boxes were also professionally rebuilt last month. Every single part within the rear-end was replaced last month. The bus has 200 miles on it since the complete restoration, but I wasn’t happy with the transmission, so I replaced everything and beefed up the gearing. It cost over $4,000 for all of the rear end work that was just done last month. Now it runs, drives, and shifts like a dream.
Nearly $50K invested and ready for someone to enjoy. I went overboard and it turned out amazing. The bus is registered, inured androad worthy. It can be your daily driver or awesome show bus or a nice addition to any collection- it's ready for the new owner to put the first miles on.
I'll be sad to see her go, but it’s time to travel this beautiful country with my fiancé and our dog - so know the funds of this sale are going to a good cause... a dream trip that we've been talking about for years. We need to purchase a baywindowWestyand fund a few months on the road. Our goal is to visit as many national parks as we can along the way.
That being said - this is a no reserve auction. Bid with Confidence, and Bid to Win!
This bus has an upgraded 12 volt system for easier starting, brighter lights, etc. With all of her upgrades, she handles the road much smoother and travels at a faster rate of speed while keeping all of the originality present. This bus does excellent on the highway, and is ready for the next show, or road trip.
A dream ride that's ready to enjoy...
She will do a steady and smooth 70+ MPH.
There is way to much to list. This was a complete restoration; meaning the entire bus was stripped, all rust was removed and replaced with the highest quality replacement panel available when necessary, every repair needed was addressed and fixed, everything was painted by a professional with 50+ years of experience, every single nut, bolt, gasket, seal, hose, clamp, bulb, wire, trim piece, tire, shock…every single item has been professionally restored or replaced with NOS/Mint condition parts or the highest quality replacements available.
Here's a quick rundown:
...... the list goes on and on and on.
