No expense spared restoration on this 1961 Beetle. It was built on February 23, 1961and sold new by Rose VW in Taunton Massachusetts. It made it's way to New Hampshire in the mid 70's and that's where it lived until last year.
A no expense restoration was done in 2008 on a totally rust-free carand only driven 800 miles until I acquired it last summer. I have over $20,000 in receipts with most of the components used being NOS or from Wolfsburg West.
The motor is a rebuilt 1970 1600cc motor. Engine# B 6392033. All mechanicals were rebuilt including the transmission and all brake components. It has (4) new Coker wide whitewall tires and the original spare is still in the trunk and looks brand new.
This is a Bug that you can fly to Maine and drive home in. Everything works just like it should. Included is the original jack, tool kit, spare tire, (4) sets of keys, and original owner's manuals. The underneath of this car is as clean as the exterior of the car!
I have a lot od additional pictures that I will be glad to email to serious bidders.
On Apr-29-16 at 09:06:49 PDT, seller added the following information:
It has been converted to 12volts and everything electrical does work. The battery was replaced in November 2015. A lot of bidders have asked about reliability to drive it home. I would no hesitate to drive it across country. The tires are brand new and the heater works great! The AM/FM radio is a "vintage" VW reproduction that looks great and works perfectly.
Also comes with a luggage rack and a Bambus parcel tray.
