1974 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:
1800cc w/ progressive Weber
3 speed Automatic
Daily Driver
Excellent Interior
Beautiful rust free (I believe original) floor pans
Little to no rust elsewhere - the worst is a small section by the passenger front window - the rear quarter windows all have broken pivot pins.
New tires
Drives excellent
Factory A/c (non functional but all in place) The blower for the A/C works but only with the engine off. Something is not wired correctly. The compressor is in place but the engine doesn't have the correct tin or pulley for it to be hooked up.
Oil was just changed (20w/50)
Carb was just cleaned
I recently purchased this from a gentleman who was liquidating his collection. I purchased this on site and drove it 200+ miles home. The motor runs excellent. It could definitely benefit from dual carburetors, but the Weber progressive is tuned pretty well. The transmission shifts smooth. The paint isn't perfect but is decent. The paint shines and looks nice but has the look of a "cheap" paint job. The bus has obviously been painted a few times over. The interior is very good. The bus could use a professional carpet set. What's in place now looks like it has been cut to fit, there is no padding. The dash is painted white, I have an additional black near perfect dash to go with it. Cruising at 55mph listening to the original AM Sapphire is something special (it does have new speakers). This is not a show car, but is a fine example of a daily driver. Everywhere this bus goes it gets lots of attention. Ask any specific questions you may have and I will do my best to describe and answer. I have been an aircooled addict for 20years and have done my best to describe this bus from what I've seen.
I've included several "iphone" pictures as well as professional pictures.
