1964 VW Brazilian Kombi Bus – 23-Window Sunroof Conversion to Samba - Full Rotisserie Restoration | Show-Quality Classic

For sale is a stunning, fully restored 1964 Brazilian VW Bus that has been professionally transformed from a 15-window into a 23-window model with factory-style sunroof.

Restoration Highlights:

  • Rotisserie restoration – taken completely apart and restored top to bottom

  • Welding new panels as needed and done with quality. I can provide pictures.

  • Nearly every part is new or professionally refurbished

  • Beautiful paint and bodywork with excellent panel fitment and brightwork

  • Safari windows in front + all square windows pop out for that classic open-air feel

  • Odometer does not reflect actual miles - the bus has been fully restored.

Mechanical Upgrades:
  • 1600cc engine – fully rebuilt with new electronic ignition and new carburetor.

    • Starts easily hot or cold

    • Smooth cold idle that transitions perfectly as it warms up

    • Runs strong and smooth throughout the rev range

    • I went with 1600 for smooth engine and reliability

  • Highway Flyer transaxle – newly rebuilt for reliable cruising

  • Front VW disc brakes

  • Dual Master Cylinder Breaks

  • Break Booster from later model VW bus installed

  • Lowered adjustable suspension with rear spring plates professionally lowered and set up by Baker Kustoms. It is about 1inch higher in the front, empty. Once you get it it levels out. Adjust the height as you wish.

This bus has been gone through thoroughly totally once it arrived from Brazil — it’s not just a pretty shell. It drives as good as it looks and is ready for shows, weekend cruises, or long-distance adventures. Not sure about a Brazilian VW Bus? I have owned 3 other 21 and 23 window German VW’s and they are very similar. Unless you know some of the small differences you can’t tell them apart. Brazil vs German the parts are interchangeable and in this one the craftsmanship is there with a high quality restoration. I restored my first 21 window VW bus in 1989 and I have restored many VW’s since. This bus is high quality, not perfect but you can drive it, show it and enjoy it! Let me know if you have any questions or want more pictures.
