The product is a 1985 Volkswagen Cabriolet in red, with a mileage of 129,982. It is a project vehicle that has been owned for 1 year and needs work. The owner does not regularly drive the vehicle, so it is in need of repair and maintenance to be in good condition again.

My daughter is selling her 1985 cabriolet (with clear SC title). This was going to be her first car but due to her increasingly failing eyesight due to her having Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It is unlikely she will ever be able to drive by time she is old enough to get her license. So this is a huge heartbreak for her. She has been collecting parts to assemble it for the past year as we could afford to. The car main body has one small rust hole about the size of a pencil eraser (shown in pictures). The stock hood is damaged and pulled apart because someone was prying at it at some point. The car comes with a new replacement. Comes with an extra rear hatch and new passenger fender. I was able to find a replacement driver fender rather than trying to do the minor body work on the front near the headlight. The radiator core support/header panel will need some body work because it is a little bit tweaked but not awful. There is no pan rust anywhere. The original seats were trash and removed/tossed. We were able to find a decent replacement back seat that we were going to scrub and dye and then put aftermarket buckets up front. Dash is in nice shape. The previous owner kept it indoors for 11 years. Removed the transmission to be rebuilt, most likely the syncros being replaced but he never got the transmission back. So we got the car without the trans. So we were able to find a engine and trans combo. I assume the transmission is good because it was a driveable car until it was wrecked. The engine however is stuck from sitting. Still great for parts. Even tracked down a factory spare. The car will need a new top (bad spot being below the rear window) but the frame works perfectly as it should. Tires will pump up enough to load, has the stock 13 inch wheels. The car has 129,000 miles. Will also include a partial body piece from a parts car that will have another steering colum (however this one has an airbag), extra suspension parts and shifter linkage. The linkage is the biggest reason for holding onto it and I wanted to keep it together. I have a tractor with a boom pole that can load the engine/trans and center parts .
