Nice oldSplit Window Beetle. Original engine runs great. Holds 60mph on the freeway with no problem. Starts easy, and stops great. (1950 was the last year for the hand-crank-start engines on the Beetles, and the crank handle is included and fascinates onlookers, but the starter button is much easier.)Mostly original paint, some touch-ups here and there over the years, numerous bumps and dents and such. I installed a drivers-side Talbot mirror, and new reproduction bumpers and guards.Sold new in Sweden, where the roads were not salted, so nearly rust-free. Factory certificate confirms numbers matching. I have had it for a couple years, and enjoyed driving it a few times a week, to the market, meals, and the occasional VW show. Everything works, too, keep it in good condition and it'll go another 75 years.Easy to enjoy, looks really nice but not so nice that you worry about every bump or chip or smudge.
