1979 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:

Live your best life! This old camper will bring you joy -- and a smile to the face of those you pass by. I hate to give it up.I bought this beauty 5 years ago and since then it's been updated, restored, and refurbished. It runs FANTASTIC. Registered and inspected. If I weren't moving I would NEVER sell this car!!I've driven the Camper thousands of highway miles–plus mountain roads and passes. Used it as a daily driver around town. Never a problem. My family has had some really unforgettable camping trips in this baby.A skilled mechanic lovingly brought the Camper to life and maintained it. I will provide his contact info upon request if you have questions (serious buyers only). He knows everything about this vehicle. Full transparency. Here's what's new/refurbed since I've owned it:• Fuel tank• Carburetor• Interior carpets and floor mats (original look)• Bluetooth sound system (with vintage/original look)• Electrical system• Axle beam• Upgraded modern safety belts• Anti-rust NHOIL undercoating• Comes with bus cover for storageThe top sleeping bunk is in perfect working order. The back seat unfolds into a downstairs bed. The passenger seat will flip around to face the rear with a secret lever. Lots of storage compartments. Comes with original maintenance books, spare tire, and USB plugs.Of course, this Camper also has character! And by "character," I mean stuff that doesn't quite work properly because the car is 45 years old and has been well-loved!• There's non-structural rust in the places you usually find rust in old cars (e.g., floorboards)• Like most old VW Campers, the heat and A/C stopped working. But the amazing VW front window "vent wings" direct airflow into the van to keep you cool (German engineering!)• Faucet does not work• Fuel gauge works *sometimes*• The biggest issue is that the steering feels a bit "loose." This is not a safety issue, but it sometimes feels a bit weird. According to my mechanic, it can be fixed for $1000. If I kept it longer I'd probably get this done.Pickup in Boston preferred, but will faciltate shipping if necessary. If you want to come take a look just let me know, it's in a public garage and I can give you the keys to take a test drive.Like I said, full transparency -- I'm an open book. I want someone to buy this van and love it as much as I do!!
