1979 Volkswagen Scirocco. Original 1.6 L 4-cylinder engine and transaxle. Not running. Fuel system has problem. Car has surface rust and a few bad spots near windshield with one small dent in driver fender. Body straight 8 out of 10. Really. All glass intact except windshield has a small crack. Windshield gaskets are trash. Interior was removed due to bad condition and planned race car design. Driver's seat left in. Dash left in place. Floors no serious rust. Structural unibody no serious rust. Car did run when parked but over time has developed a non-start condition most likely due to a faulty Bosch FI system or fuel pressure accumulator/regulator. The car has brand new roller tires and is easily loaded for pick up. The engine will run with fuel system replacement or service although a larger more powerful modern engine and transaxle was slated and should be installed in this car. Electrical dash/ engine harness wiring is very old (cracked)and is not safe. A new full wiring harness kit is availible from Painless. Car was intended as a SCCA race car wide body project, but unforeseen events prevent me from building this car so reluctantly I offer it to anyone that would love it as much as I did. This is a CA car that has little other rust, but the body was sanded on by a kid and left as you see. It is repairable/ restorable and is a great starting point for a nice cafe style widebody VW Scirocco race car or full restoration to original. Clean title in hand.
