Vehicle Details
Cruise back in time with this 1976 greenVolkswagen Westfalia Bus. The only reason we are selling our beloved air-cooled van is because we no longer have time to use it as much as we would like. It is time for it to bring joy to someone else!
We cold-started it today after 3 months of sitting and it fired right up. It has been regularly serviced by a reliable VW mechanic in Lancaster city. It also has a Classic tag and doesn't need emissions testing. At this time everything is working great - lights, engine, starter, turn signals, brake, etc. It's a stick shift and you'll need some experience on another vehicle to transfer to this one. The engine is the second VW original engine that the car enthusiast we bought it from installed within the past five years. Not all parts are original; but this beauty is fully functioning and ready to drive! We've fit four people and a dog camping easily in with the pop top, so it's a great family vehicle.
Condition: the body has surface rust (as shown in the photos). The pop top is in GREAT condition for it's age but has some small tears. It runs smoothly currently, but will occasionally have issues that will need to be addressed (as with any 50 year old vehicle.)
Fridge is inside but not tested - we always used a cooler. I do not have the sink since it was not in the car when we bought it.
The mileage is high but this is its second engine. It was replaced by the owner before us. That owner also rebuilt the seating area behind the front seats and replaced the fabric of the back area (using boat quality fabric).
