1954 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Deluxe Additional Info:

Owned and driven for 10 years. Constantly improved - returned to stock height, engine brought back to stock appearance, exterior trim remounted with proper little rubber thingies, etc. Uses a 1973 1600cc engine dressed with a custom muffler from Vintage Speed in stainless steels and an OEM oil bath air filter to mimic the 1954 1200cc engine. Makes parts much easier to find and the car much more drivable, while still holding up at car shows.Starts and runs lovely - video links below! Comes with spare windshield.Fresh looking carpet. Great door seals. Upholstery is pretty darned good, with heavy wear at driver's left shoulder seam from use. Marvel at the simple neat details from the early 50s - the tiny ashtray, the glovebox that will hold just about a pair of gloves. The arm to lock the vent windows is like a piece of tiny jewelry.Needs rear shocks installed, they come with the car new in the box - KYBs - but still drivable. I drove from Lewisville to Argyle and it was perfectly happy.
