1971 Volkswagen Other Additional Info:

Very high end 1914 cc motor build and it is extremely tight with no leaks. Rebuilt tight low geared transmission and high end short throw shifter. This thing shifts like a new sports car. All new suspension and bushings. This is a street buggy and handles like a light weight sports car. Disk brakes up front, New American Racing Torque Thrust wheels, new tires. Body color is black. Like a sport bike on 4 wheels. Factory built with 18 inch shortened VW chassis .
-This thing weighs less than 1000 lbs and has 120 hp. That is a better power to weight ratio (8.33lbs/hp) than a Lamborghini Countach! Very low miles since build. (100 miles since 2019, ODO says 90064 but its in no way correct) - clean title, no accidents

This Bandit Buggy was built by Dune Buggy, Inc. in Englewood Colorado from 1969 to 1983
They had 3 models that they produced which were the Bandit (18 inch shortened vw chassis), the Carriage (full size vw chassis), and the Fargo (their truck looking body). All of their cars were built on donor chassis and they did not build a frame in house. The bandit was included in the Montgomery Wards catalog, however they did not sell very many cars. The bulk of their manufacturing operation was buggies they built for their own rental operations. They had several dune buggy rental companies in Florida and at their peak Dune Buggy, Inc. produced as many as 5 cars per week. They started out with the 1300cc engine and finished with the 1600cc engine when they stopped production.
