Fully restored in 2020 by previews owner. Rust repairs and sheetmetal replacement. A repaint in factory red and beige was carried out along with reupholstering the interior, replacing the gauges, installing a new fabric sunroof, and rebuilding the suspension, braking, and steering systems. Power is provided by a replacement 1,914cc Scat DP flat-four with forged connecting rods, a GMB camshaft, big-valve cylinder heads, and a Flame Thrower ignition mated to a Rancho Performance four-speed manual transaxle. Additional work consisted of installing Wolfsburg West front and rear bumpers, exterior seals and weatherstripping, 15″ steel wheels with Coker Classic whitewall tires, and a front disc brake conversion. The valves were adjusted and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale. This 21-window Bus is now offered by the seller in California on behalf of the owner with 80 pages of receipts, restoration photographs, an Authentication Certificate from Volkswagen Classic Parts, and clean title.
