1957 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:

For sale is a 1957 Volkswagen Beetle. It is the last year of the oval window Beetles. This vehicle hasn’t been on the road since the eighties. It is going to need a complete restoration but it will be a great project for someone. It was going to be my project but I don’t have the time for it now. It comes with a ton of parts as you can see from the pictures. Mechanically, it does not run. It has a 1500 engine in it that someone put in it in the eighties. They cut out the back panel to make the change easier but I have a replacement panel included. I think it is a 1969, which is one of the best engines that VW made. I was going to rebuild it. It also comes with a cylinder kit that I bought for this purpose. It also comes with a good running, period correct 36 H.P engine, if that is the way that you want to go with it. It would be great to have both engines. The body is pretty good but does have typical rust in the heater channels. The engine cover is dented but it isn’t correct for the car anyway, so it also comes with a good condition (surface rust), correct “w” rear hood. Tires are fairly new. Paperwork is totally clear and in my name, with a NYS transferable registration. (Acts as a title for cars older than 1973 in NYS) Ovals are getting rare and this one is a great find!
