1992 Volkswagen EuroVan Additional Info:

This Eurovan had an engine swap from the 2.5L gas engine to a 2.4L diesel. My plan was to put a low km diesel engine (280,000km) into a rust free T4 Eurovan and drive it forever . Unfortunately my financial circumstances changed .Now I am moving back to Europe and it is not practical to take this van with me. I am hoping to find a good home for my van I... spent so much time rebuilding it . On the engine I replaced camshaft seals, crankshaft seals, timing belts, water pump. I put a brand new clutch in a month ago. Installed a new battery 2 weeks ago. I tested the glow plugs before installing them .. they all checked out perfectly. I bought an injector tester for the sole purpose to make absolutely sure that they work properly. The injectors all have very good spray pattern no after drips. Each cylinder had compression test performed on it with very good results. This engine starts with no hesitation. Once you have driven the van a little while, you almost don't have to wait for the glow plug light to turn off to start the engine again. With the new clutch installed you can feel a nice acceleration and a steady push from the engine. The steering feels steady no vibration or dead play . Two new front axel bearings were installed as well. Installed new brake pads front and rear. In the rear brake the break cylinders ware also replaced.Braking appear to be smooth and effective. The suspension could use some up grade. They work for now but I think for a little money invested you could get a superb ride.I had to buy a new seat cover because the front seats are soiled .In the rear of the van new carpet was installed over the old one.Up front replaced the carpet with rubber floor that came out of a T4 Transporter. I believe this type of floor is more suited to take the abuse from dirty shoes, spilled drinks etc. Even with all these upgrades and repairs this is still a used car so don't expect perfection. The front windshield has many cracks .The clearcoat of the exterior has many fine scratches from a car wash I am guessing .There are few larger scratches as you can see from pictures. The RPM gauge does not work. This van is for a person who appreciate simplicity and does not mind not having the luxury of electric windows or air conditioning. In exchange for simplicity you get good fuel economy 9.5L/100km in city 8.5L/100km on highway. Also the diesel engine is more dependable than the gas engine with it's funky electronic sensors. For the most part you could operate this van even if the alternator belt breaks (once it happened to me on a trip driving back from California). It is ready for your ideas: camper van or cargo van.
