1967 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:

Hello, How are you today? I am selling an unrestored, ruby red 1967 VW Beetle. The 1967 Beetle is a one year only Beetle. It is the last year of the old style bumpers, 1st year of 12 volt, and first year of the sealed beam headlights. This car is VERY SOLID!!! The odometer says 15,271 I have no idea the actual miles on the car. I have a transferable NY state registration, miles are exempt after a certain age in Ny. I just want to be up front about that before I get into the car itself. The car was stored in an old tobacco barn for many years down south. I have put quite a bit in to it to get it to its current state. From what I can see the car had one repaint, I would say sometime in the 70's. The patina on this car is very cool!!! The car pictures great, but I want to be honest, the paint job is very old, it has many battle scars on it, but it is very cool. If you are after a show car/garage queen, this is not the car. This is a great car to drive, enjoy, and not worry about parking in a parking lot. The car does not need much, at all, to be 100% ready to go. I have driven it, it is a lot of fun to drive, and goes down the road great! The car has a 1500 single port engine in it, I am not sure if it is the original engine, but it runs great!Over the last few months I replaced the entire interior!!! I purchased the seat covers, door panels, head liner, visors from TMI, the rug came from auto custom carpets, no expense was spared!!! I had the headliner, seats, and most of the upholstery work done at Undercover trim in Waterbury CT. I had extra insulation added, so it is very nice inside when you are going down the road. The inside smells new, ABSOLUTLEY no nasty odors, or issues of any kind! I ripped it all out, scrubbed the floors, roof, everything, and started from scratch!! The pan is all original, including the battery area, it has NEVER been patched. I did not put any kind of paint, or coating on it to try to maintain the original patina. I did replace all the rubber brake hoses, brakes, and things of that nature. The body is all original! I replaced the fender welting, and light lenses due to age. The engine runs great! Starts right up every time! The clutch has been replaced, along with the fuel pump, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, battery, and points. The gas tank is original, I did clean it out, and have run a few tanks of gas through it, no issues there! All the tires were replaced, within the last month, and have very few miles on them. The front end of the car is tight, The front end parts are old, they are all very tight, but are old, and some of the rubber boots on the ball joints, and tie rods are not great, so I would recommend replacing either the parts, or at least the boots at some point. The car runs great, it has an after market muffler, and tips on it, but the heat ducts are still hooked up, sounds cool! The carb may need to be played with a little. I have driven it, it has not left me stranded, but the choke acts funny here and there. Actually the more it is driven, the better it acts. lol This is a very cool old survivor car, and gets looks everywhere I take it! The car does not have rattles or anything of that nature going on, so it is a pleasure to take down the road. I do not know the actual miles on the car. I have a Transferable NY state registration that goes with the car. I have walk around video of the car, with it running, I am happy to E mail or text it to anyone. I am trying to be as up front as I can about this car, I do not want to misrepresent it in anyway, so if you have any LOGICAL, REASONABLE questions, please feel free to ask, I am happy to help in anyway. I am located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts 01201. My place is located on a major route, so picking up the car is not an issue at all. I am happy to help load it, help the auto transporter in any way, and make sure it gets off safely.
