1971 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:

Hesitantly considering for sale my 1971 VV Bus. Tin Top Bay window with theeasy to maintain upright 1600 dual port motor. Arguably the most simple motorin automotive history to learn and keep healthy. Motor in this one was recentlyrebuilt and runs strong. New clutch cable. Custom cargo area buildout that you can lounge in with an L shaped couch that turns into a full backarea bed. Recently done, all new upholstery and tons of storage underneath. This bus is incredibly solid in all the right areas and built with a sensiblecustom look that still compliments its vintage build date. A completely readyto road trip get in and go bus with opportunity to make it your own from hereor restore as original given it’s uncommonly solid body. I’ve used the bus allover New England just under 3,000 miles this summer. Bus is lowered (but notobnoxiously slammed) correctly and doesn’t rub under load. It is a ‘rat rod’style bus with more character than Cartoon Network! Paint is a matte red primerand forced patina (got the look without the rust!) this is not a restored bus,it is far cooler. Bus drives really well, I would have to imagine it could quite possibly be a 1776 given how quick it moves, but to be safe lets call it at least a 1641 as the last owner believed it to be that after a rebuild. Occasionally speedo and dash lights are intermittent. New cable will beincluded. Needs a blinker switch. Turns on but doesn’t blink. Simple fix. Start button under the coulomb. Emergency break works but needs ratchet stopper.Couple quarks like that here and there but after all it’s a great bus and readyto be enjoyed and personalized by the next care taker. I really hate to sellthe bus, but I have the opportunity to buy my friends earlier split window andcan’t keep both unfortunately. MAY consider trades for something that wouldinterest him in place of cash or a combination there of. Get an early baywindow bus while they are still affordable!

I will be listing this car only once. If it doesn't get what it should here round 1, then I will be raffling it off. If you're seriously interested in making this thing yours, be ready and bid for real.

As these things go, some key points to make and understand before bidding. Given the age of the car and what it is, and of course the venue in which it’s being listed, I am offering this sale AS-IS, no warranties outside of my word on the items mentioned above, and no refunds of any kind once the deal is done. This said PLEASE ask any and all questions, come and see/inspect the car if you’re able, and get all of your own permissions/financing/space cleared in your garage BEFORE you bid. Keep in mind, this IS a 50 year old car, and will likely have things to mess with and improve on. The car is also going to be listed elsewhere and for sale locally, first to pay is the new owner. Otherwise, bid what you can afford to and are committed to pay, and we’ll see from there! PayPal for deposit is OK, the rest will have to be wire, cash, or certified bank check (PP Fees too high for full payment). Nothing gets handed over till funds clear. Pick up here at my storage facility in Worcester is expected within 5 business days of end of auction. Shipping is responsibility of the buyer, but I will of course do anything I can on my end to help get that sorted. I’ve both shipped a car home and away so I’m happy to lend my experience onto whomever might not have before to make it go smoothly. I have all the paperwork, clear/clean title, ready for new owner to register in their name etc, all will be sent certified mail once funds are cleared.
