Here is a nice looking 1968 VW Bug up for sale. The car has a brand new convertible top and looks good. The car runs and drives but should still be considered needing TLC to make it perfect. The car has a clear California title and still retains it's original black California license plates from the 60s. Currently non opped. Exteior wise, the paint is older but is clean. Has that classic survivor look to it I would say. It is far from perfect but does shine up nicely and has a good patina style look to it. There are small nics and scratches here and there but nothing major. See the video for a detailed condition report please. Overall I would rate it about a 6.5 to 7 out of 10 but looks like a classic original bug which is a good look in itself. Windshield is in excellent shape and has a new rubber seal. Convertible top just installed top to bottom with all new bows, new pad, straps, headliner, rear window frame and seal cost about 1600 to do and looks great. Wheels look great matched to the body color.

The interior is in nice condition as it was refreshed recently before my ownership. As you can see the seats, carpet, door panels, sun visors were all redone. Also is has a newer dash pad and inner and outer window scrapers all look very fresh. All window cranks were replaced and knobs on dash for lights, wipers etc. Steering wheel is in good original condition. Glove box was recently replaced but latch is not connected to hood release. Speedometer works but gas guage needs to be installed and wired up. Has Hurst trigger shifter with reverse lockout.

Mechanically the engine appears to be the original engine although I have not run the numbers. It starts and runs good as you can see in my video. Starts on the first shot and idles well without stalling. Has some oil leaks which should be corrected. Transmission shifts excellent with no grinding or popping out of gear. Brake pedal is high and and solid as a rock. Tires have near new tread all around. The car steers well and feels decent on the road. Rear of floor pans were patched at one time and looks shabby. Rear of heater tubes have some rust. Trunk compartment looks clean and the front end looks good. Has spare and extra fan belt along with driver side mirror needs to be put on.
