1970 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia Additional Info:

With regret I am offering my 1970 Volkswagen Westfalia for sale . I have spent countless hours redoing this nearly 50 year old bus to what you see now . When I had the opportunity to buy this bus, I seen the stripes down the side and couldn't help but be super excited to redo it . This bus got completely stripped down . And I spent hours redoing the to, with all new seal, roof mechanis, latche, and new poptop canvas . The original cot up top is in tact . Next I moved to the lower area and completely refreshed the complete camper kit with original floorin, and all the cushion covers as original . Moving forward I replaced the front seat pads and covers for the front seat, with new door panels and front kick panels . This bus does have the original child's cot that fits above the front seats . So with the inside done, I polished the outside preserving the buses exterior . As that's what excited me the most. A new windshield seal was installed .Then I went for the mechanical, the engine and transmission were remove, The engine was stripped down inspecte, reassembled with new seals throughout . Fresh tune up parts and fuel pum, new clutch and pressure plat, including throw out bearing in transmission. The transmission was drained all new seals throughout and fresh fluids adde, all shifting components were greased new urethane shift coupler, engine mounts etc . The 1641cc motor runs very well and shifts smoothly .The brake system was also gone through with new wheel cylinders and pads up front with soft rubber line, rear wheel cylinders and soft line, new coil over shocks all the way around to remove that 50 year old sag buses get . Giving it a bit more ground clearance and then I added 27x8.5x14 aggressive A/T tires . Which give the bus a great solid feel driving down the road . Providing a bit more stability on or off road .The body of the bus is very soli, and what of the best ones I could find . Some surface rust here and there but nothing major . Floors are nice and soli, frame is clean . Originally a California bu, that spent a few years in Alaska the former owner worked for BP . Then it made its way to the dry side of Washington where he had stored the bus for some years before me purchasing it .This bus is truly a one of a kind and has a great unique look . I absolutely love it . But I have bought a Mercedes Sprinter and I can't have two campers . If I could I would keep it .So I hope this bus goes to a good hom, and makes memories for its next owners . This bus has a lot of character it's not perfect and has some chips and things around the body . But for me I loved that part . I like to camp off road by lakes and rivers, where a tree branch might scrape down the side . I didn't wanna have to worry much about that . But the bus presents itself very wel, gets a lot of smiles anywhere you go .If you are a 0 rated bidder please contact me prior to biddin, A $1,500 immediate deposit is required on winning bid . Full payment to be arranged via bank wire or cash payment within 3 days of auction close .
