Reliable Daily Driver. We just just got back from a 3100 mile road trip around Oregon, California, Nevada, and Idaho with absolutely no issues. This bus is ready to go anywhere right now. My wife and I are off to Japan and the time has come to sell our beloved camper. I have been through every system on this bus to make sure it would be absolutely reliable for us while adventuring.Rebuilt factory correct 1600cc dual port engine with new vw engine block. Approximately 11k miles on it and then found new vw factory cylinder heads and tore the engine down and upgraded the cylinder heads about 5k miles ago (and a new carburetor was added at that time.) Electronic ignition upgrade installed so no timing to adjust.Commercial rated light truck tires have plenty of tread left and the date codes are recent.Professionally rebuilt transmission by VW specialist 5k miles ago when the engine was out to upgrade the cylinder heads.New brakes front and rear, including rebuilt front calipers, new German rear wheel cylinders, all new rubber brake lines, new master cylinder and brake vacuum servo (power booster).New wheel bearings front and rear and seals.New cv axlesKYB gas adjust rear shocksKYB GR2 front shocksNewer batteryAccessory Westfalia stool (fairly rare)Pop top canvas has been replaced, good zippers and screensOriginal child’s cot that fits above front seat and rear snap in bug screen are included.Accessory bamboo parcel shelves installed.New CD player with Bluetooth and just about every function they offer.Extra new kick panels included without speaker holes just in case.Full set of five freshly sandblasted and painted silver stock wheels included.Rear shelf above bed included but not pictured. We used the camper with the sink/icebox unit removed for extra space but it is now in the bus and securely bolted in place for shipping. All lights, signals, wipers, etc work properly including reverse lights.Front steering linkage bushings professionally rebuilt.Ball joints and tie rods are in good condition.I have owned this vehicle for several years and built it for long term reliability, each repair was thorough and no parts were skipped. This bus has never broken down on me, I believe in very thorough preventative maintenance and making sure all service is up to date. One key fits all locks and ignition but the rear hatch lock stopped working properly this week and will need repaired. Driver seat corner has some separation of the stitching, the pop top canvas needs a couple more staples where it pulled loose on this trip. Upstairs original cot is in tact.Vehicle is from Austin, Texas and has no significant rust anywhere, that’s why I chose this bus originally after a long search. I did not want to do any cutting and welding. The bus has been repainted once before I bought it.I’m trying to give a thorough description but certainly there is something I have forgotten to include. Please email me with any questions and I’ll happily provide any and all information.Clean and clear Oregon title in my name will be provided with a bill of sale.
