This is one of the best restored Things in the country. These are so desirable and for many good reasons. The funnest car you can imagine driving. Going down the road with top down, doors off, windshield folded is so exhilarating. Perfect car for any type of vacation home or the beach. Very capable of off road. They are so easy to drive and maintain. Fits 5 passengers plus their belongings or the rear seats fold flat for plenty of... cargo space. Truly a people pleaser, you will get more smiles and waves then with any other car. Kids especially love going for a ride. I've driven everything from the Batmobile to a Hemi Cuda and nothing is as fun as the Thing! It's about time that somebody restored one to this level. It was done on a rotisserie, completely redone top to bottom in and out along with some very nice upgrades. EXTERIOR: The body has no rust or damage. Painted a very glossy smooth yellow. Sharp looking "The Thing" decal running along the bottom. The bumpers are blacked out and the rear is drilled out for exhaust outlets. It has new light bezels, emblems, windshield, door handles, tail lights etc. The convertible top is brand new, rear plastic window is crystal clear, it fits perfectly. The side windows are a really nice upgrade I have not seen before. They are brand new and actually have plexiglass you can slide open versus the original which was a floppy plastic you couldn't open. New 15 inch custom chrome wheels with cone center caps on performance Kumho tires. INTERIOR: The inside has been completely painted gloss yellow with gloss black floors. It has the Swiss cheese style floor mats. Upgrades include a remote control Pioneer stereo system, oil pressure and oil temperature gauge cluster neatly added under the dash and there's a tachometer. It also has upgraded Empi shifter. It has new visors, speakers in back, interior light works. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: There's a huge upgrade in here. It now has a 2310 CC stroker motor, this thing sounds like a V8. It features dual carbs with electric chokes, custom exhaust, performance ignition, remote oil breather and a whole lot of chrome. All the components are new or rebuilt. New wiring. The engine bay is painted gloss yellow, new weatherstrip seal. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Completely painted yellow, has a carpeted liner, new rubber gasket. There are storage bags for the side windows. UNDERSIDE: Even the bottom is completely restored to show quality. The floor pan has zero rust and is painted gloss black, the inner fenders are gloss yellow. Everything is new- every nut and bolt, grommet etc. Front and rear independant suspension is completely rebuilt, painted and detailed. Has KYB gas shocks front and back. Disc brakes with stainless braided brake hoses upfront. Bottom of the motor and trans are spotless. Custom exhaust is polished and powder coated. New horn up front. The Thing was the German version of the Jeep, it has a high ground clearance and the motor sits over the rear axle for good traction. It's ready for the beach literally, drive right into the beach. Man, I wish it was summer!!! Hard side windows Removable doors Fold down windshield Chrome wheels Stereo Empi shifter Tachometer Fold flat seats
