1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle Additional Info:
Garage kept. Very clean. No rusted floor pans. Car was painted about 15 years ago in the original color. Car has been kept original as possible, except for disc brakes installed on front wheels. I still have all the original parts and many spare parts to include oem style luggage rack, 4 tires with rim, misc hub caps, and some body rubber trim parts. Also I have the original owners tool kit, manual and some repairs manuals.
Car comes with tow bar, I use to tow behind my motor home. Not show, the front trunk is complete with spare, windshield washer bottle and in clean condition. Car runs well. This is too nice of a car for daily driver, would make a great weekend show car. Car still has original style oem am/fm radio. I also have spare am radio.
The car also has dealer installed AC. This AC unit isn't like the add on you normally see, which occupy the rear seat storage area. See the dash picture and notice the vents under the glove box. Also notice the compressor on the left side of engine. The AC is complete, but needs recharged. I never used it much. As with any car this old it has some rust underneath, and minor issues. I’m selling my baby due to my age 70+ . The car will need the carburetor adjusted, wheels balanced and oil changed. It has set in my aircraft hangar for about 12 months, Ive started it up and installed a new carburetor. I drove it around a little.
Car is being sold as is, however you can cancel if not happy with car, upon your inspection. Inspection must be made before your final payment. Your deposit is refundable.
Now a word about VW bugs. They are very reliable cars if maintained properly, Most knowledgeable VW bug mechanics are gone, but a few still exist. Most owners love them, but they are old technology, this car is 47 years old.!!! If you have mechanical abilities you can do a lot of things yourself. The car was not designed for extended 70 to 75 mph driving.(This can be done if you have the transmission re geared for those speeds). In my opinion, this is a collector car, and should not be your only car. With that said, I would have no problem taking the car on a long trip.
About price, the car is worth about 5500 to 6750. in its current condition. This is not a worked over chrome job VW but close to original.
