1969 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:
Classic Vw bus with all the character. It is a project and will require work to get on its feet but has a rebuilt motor with 10,000 miles on it before it was put down for the winter several years ago and hasen't seen the road since. The bus is a Westphalia with the full interior except for the sink. The interior has shag carpeting which accents the hippy vibes that the bus oozes. It's an attention grabber for sure. It is a poptop so it does come with a upper level with a sleeping cot, also since its a westfalia the bench fold out into a bed.
Comes with a key and a clean title. Probably all that needs done to it is a new starter and fuel pump to get the engine running. However the axle beam, and brakes with need to be attended to before it is road worthy. Head lights and front turn signals work but the rears need new bulbs. It does have significant rust in the usual vw locations(rockers, behind front wheels, front pan, and several other locations) but it has a clean frame, and solid transmission and engine.
Here is a list of major things to be repaired.-Side windows(still in tact) removed and need re installation with new window seals.- Sliding door mechanism needs a rear slider(does open and close but requires finesse until slider is replaced), its cheap.- Body panels(passenger side body panel needs looked at near sliding door, and drivers rear end has some bad paint chipping from old age)- Fuel pump and starter for engine to run.- Poptop in tank but needs a new top eventually.
This would be a fun project if you have initiative and a fun loving heart for vw's. Do keep in mind that this is a 50 year old car and there maybe other things that may need looked at. I will answer any question to the best of my knowledge and will be happy to allow you a car inspection if you'd like.
I was not able to complete the project myself due to relocating so i hope the bus's memories can live on through you just in time for Christmas. Happy bidding!
