1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Additional Info:

I am the 2nd owner of this beautiful 1969½ Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible (halfway through the1969 production yearthe plastic rear convertible window was changedto glass). The original owner, a former co-worker, ordered the car from the Volkswagen factory in Osnabruck, Germany and in June 1969 she picked up this Ghia and drove around Europe for two months before bringing this car to the U.S.
I bought this classic in December 1978 from the original owner. The car comes with the original Owner’s Manual, the original Owner's Manual carrying pouchand the original Service Record showing the first 600-mile service was done at Pierre Senn VW (now Senn Automotive) in Neuchâtel, Switzerland on June 25, 1969 with 771 miles driven.
I had the original engine rebuilt to 1641cc duringa complete restoration and re-paint in 2007. The odometer currently shows 115,564 original miles with less than1,700 miles on the rebuilt engine. A new convertible top, head liner and header bow was installed in 2014. The door windows, windshield and rear convertible glass are all original. The AM-FM radio is original but no longer picks up very many stations.
This car has never been in an accident. It won the Judges Award at the 2015 New Mexico State Fair. It drives great and could be easily taken to the next level of show quality. It has always been garaged and is truly an exceptional example of the 1969 Karmann Ghia Convertible. After 40 years of ownership it’s time to let another Ghia enthusiast appreciate this increasingly sought after model.

The imperfections: 1) There is a 1” scratch in paint on the driver's side rear fender. 2) There is a small chip in paint halfway along driver’s door just above chrome door trim. 3) The underneath side of the passenger rear right-bumper blade is showing a little rust in the chrome. 4) One of the VW hubcaps is starting to show a little rust pitting. 5) The original front boot/trunk liner has a tear.
