1959 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:
What is here is a '59 beetle that has been in a garage for over 40 years
Here's the bad: It has been parked in a garage for probably 40 years. Mileage meter can be seen in pic - assume that is a rollover, but not sure of actual mileage Unfortunately the pans are gone, racoons/mice got to the interior so it would need a new interior. It would need a new hood (current one in dented - possibly could be fixed - pic shows a different hood with rust hole through it - original hood in separate pic) along with a drivers side fender. It would also need a windshield. I believe the pans being rotted out are the result of the garage roof leaking at some point and the water getting to the interior through the open windshield (It seems to me there were no issues with the pans when it went in there - especially since it was driven there in about 1973/74) Also, handle on passenger side bent. Also - there appears to be some additional parts: bumpers, seat frames - pic tries to show that.
The upside - the body seems quite solid, the oil on the stick looks decent (have not tried to turn engine). All the other glass is still there. The gear shift seems to move though all the gear positions with no issue. Seems to be very minimal dings on the body outside that described above. Appears that one of the tires may have been an original, along with the battery (amazingly 3 tires are holding air in their poor condition). I also found the owner manuals, and a stack of repair receipts from '59 to '74. It appears the car started in California, made its way to Missouri in the early 70's then came into my father's possession around 74 or 75 in the Chicago area. I believe it was parked in the garage after the fender bender. (He either was given it, or bought it from a friend down in Missouri) I'm not sure he ever registered it, think he hit a guard-rail in a snow storm almost as soon as he got it
Obviously this will require trailer - arrangements to be made by buyer. I will assist as much as possible.

Note - added 3 additional pics at end to show where there appears to be some damage up-front from when guard rail was hit
