1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Bug - CLEAN - 1963 - No Reserve! Additional Info:
I have always been a fan of the Volkswagen Beetles, ever since riding around as a kid in one and going to hamburger shops! I have had this 1971 for a while, and I have had so many nice things done to it, but unfortunately for me, it is time to let her go to a new owner who has loved it as much as I have!
Where to start on things that have been done? Well first, it is, was and is obvious it is a clean California Bug. Most of these Beetles have the floor pans rusted out, well not this one. The underside is in great condition. The pan is the original one and it has no rust. The wheels and tires are in good shape. The paint is awesome and turns heads and always makes a splash at my local Cars and Coffee. When the car was painted, it had the fenders, doors, bonnet, etc. removed, for a good paint job and to make sure it wasn't painted over that black fender trim. The bumpers are from an earlier model, but they were professionally installed and used using the correct kit and still use the better quality, sturdier and safer '71 support. The rear has slot for a bike rack or tow behind. I never ended up using that feature, but I thought it was very neat. The engine is a rebuilt 1600, with a new clutch and checked trans. It was built up using only EMPI parts, including the exhaust which sounds like a Porsche, and the high-flow, dual port intake. This car is INCREDIBLY reliable, it has never not started on the first crank, regardless of weather. We tried to keep the interior extremely clean and not hacked up. It has the correct 71 highback comfortable seats, that were recovered a few years back, and is extremely comfortable and easy drive.
The "beach-boys-bug," as my family likes to call it, is incredible little car, that has been loved and taken care of. You will not find another restored Bug that brings a bigger smile to your face. Plus, with the older style bumpers and white walls, you get the looks of an older model, but the safety, reliability, the 12 volt, the comfort and the MUCH higher quality of my favorite year, 1971. It has a clean title, it has no warranty expressed or implied and mileage exempt due to age. Please do your inspections before the end of the auction. She does not disappoint and I hope somebody appreciates it as much as I have.
Thanks,
