For sale is our 1985 VW Cabriolet that has been converted to 108 volt electric drive.

You will love gliding silently along the roadway with wind in your hair and sunshine on your skin in this little white drop top. I take off in 1st; I find 3rd gear suitable for most town driving and 5th can take you to highway speed.

Electric Automotive designed the upgraded 108 volt EV kit used for this delightful Cabrio. The kit originally retailed for over $13,000 and with new batteries just months old this that’s over $15000 in add ons. The kit is made of high quality components which include:

Curtis motor controller

NetGain ImPulse 9 DC motor

custom battery mounting system

Elcon dc-dc converter

Albright contractor

Zivan NG3 onboard charger

The manual top is water tight and easy to operate. We can pop it open or closed in about 30 seconds.

The Zivan NG3 charger is programmed for use with most wall outlets and will give this car a full charge over night. A dedicated 20 amp plug would be ideal if charging from fully depleted batteries.

We have recently replaced the battery pack (around $1600 worth of new deep cycle batteries) and range is expected to be about 40 miles depending on your driving style and terrain. Electric Automotive suggests 60-80 mile range which I could expect if you live on relatively flat land... say near the Florida beach.
