1991 Volkswagen Jetta GL Additional Info:
For sale is my 1991 VW Jetta 1.6L idi diesel. According to the stamp, this one was actually manufactured in Germany. It is an awesome vehicle and I've had several of them. It's body/paint is in very good shape for it's age. It does have a few scratches on it, but nothing I consider major. Mechanically, it is very strong. The engine runs great and it is my everyday driver. It has just over 138k miles which is very low for this engine. It's a diesel so understand that it is a bit louder than a gas engine and will smoke some. The fuel mileage is in the mid 40's/ 500+ miles per tank. I have put about $1500 (complete clutch kit/ alternator/ block heater/ belts/ 6 year interstate battery/ etc ) in it over the past year upgrading normal wear and tear items. The high idle/cold start in combination with the block heater makes for an easy start with quick heat in the wintertime. I don't foresee any issues with it going forward. It has the typical VW headliner that has started to fall down, but aside from that, the interior is flawless. Currently, there are seat covers/ headrest covers to protect all of the factory upholstery. I replaced the boss head unit (50wX4)with bluetooth connectivity for pandora/xm and to make calls from my phone, but its nothing fancy. Overall, if you're into older cars or the older Volkswagons, this is a great purchase. There are several other Jetta Mk2s online that are priced higher and have many more miles so I feel this is a reasonable asking price. My wife and I are selling it because I have a new job where I drive half as much, so we don't need the commuter ride anymore. Please let me know any questions that you might have and I'll answer them the best I can. I'll be uploading a video to youtube of the car running and a walk-around. I'll post the link when available. Thanks
