1980 Volkswagen Mk1 Rabbit Sportruck - PROJECT - RUST BUCKET - DONOR - PARTS
Please note: The pictures are over a span of 9 months - all other Vw's in the pictures are NOT FOR SALE - THEY ARE NOT MINE.
The Sportruck will come with 13" steel rims - i should have some that hold air for loading. The fancy rims in some pictures have already BEEN SOLD - even though they might show up in recent pictures.
This truck is VERY RUSTY. The Inner tower / structure on the driver side is ROTTED. Is if repairable - probably.
The passenger side tower has rust at the base of the tower - there is a picture.
The last two pictures show the lower control arm mounts - take today while truck is on the trailer.
Does NOT RUN - has been sitting in a barn for 20 years until last spring ( 2017 )
Owner passed away and there was an estate sale over the summer of 2017.
I drove 480 miles round trip to check out this truck in person - It sold at auction and i ended up with it this last week after promising to buy it a month or so ago. Then earlier this week i ended up buying 2015 TDI and am just over projects for the time being.
So here it is - a cool on the outside looking Westy 1980 Rabbit Sportruck. Gas engine 1.6 fuel injectio, 4 speed manual transmission. The CIS stuff is missing - it was there at the auction last summer - but it not in the engine bay now. The last 6 pictures were taken TODAY.
The interior is complete - honestly the dash is not in bad condition - the windshield got smashed while sitting in the barn last year or maybe many years ago. There is a used windshield laying in the bed - its FREE - dont know its actual condition.
Back to the interior - the black das, center console with gauge, sport truck seats, black door panels - all are present and would probably clean up nice - the carpet is moldy and smells like a mouse POOP - dead mice instead. The black headliner is falling down.
Driver rear tail light is broken - driver side door handle is missing - the passenger door handle DOES NOT WORK - i have not even tried to open that door yet.
I have several Mk1 projects currently - i have a few rabbit trucks with good inner structures - but just no desire or time to actually fix this. I was going to ALH TDI Swap it and use it as a work truck - but reality of lif, kid, business it will never happen.
So you are bidding a rusty cool red 1980 Vw Mk1 Sportruck - that needs everything. Good luck - SOLD AS IS.
