1968 Volkswagen Other Additional Info:
This is a custom built, street legal, registered, one of a kind VW powered roadster. New fuel system and brakes. The person who built this passed away about 14 years ago. I do have some history of the vehicle. It has been in a barn, under a cover for at least 14 years. I made sure all electrical, braking and fuel systems are functional. Drives great.
There are some chips in the paint around a couple of the rivets. there is one scratch on the hood near the front.
There is a small leak around the drain plug on the bottom of the sump. It is the standard VW gasket where the oil strainer would normally be.
The rims are from a 1974 Lincoln Continental Mark IV. I have seen them listed for up to $1200. The drums have a 5 on 4 1/2 lug pattern, so any wheels that will fit on a Ford will fit on here.
Here is a link to a quick walk around and the engine running. https://youtu.be/J18BVyb1onk
I drove it to the last Bugoramma in Sacramento and it won the Best Special Construction prize in the car show.
The engine has a lot of chrome aftermarket parts and shines up really well. It has dual Webber ICT's, an oil sump, full flow, external oil filter, electric fuel pump, new brakes, new rear brake cylinders, Gene Berg oil pump cover, new battery and new fuel lines.
Make and offer. Lets make a deal, possibly a trade?
All questions welcome.
