1987 Volkswagen Jetta 8v Gas engine - automatic transmission.
I am a small used car dealership / Vw Enthusiast shop.
I got a facebook message about this car sitting over in Council bluffs iowa next to a house. So i went and knocked on the door and went back and bought it. It would NOT run when i bought it - replaced fuel pump / filter. Problem solved.
The odometer does NOT work - it is stuck at 59,000 miles or there about - the speedometer and tach / gas / temp gauge works.
I was told this car was his grand mothers car from east coast. Lots of receipts in glove box ( including a respray in 2011 of the car )
The window seals are dry and shrunk on some of the doors ( outside window scrappers )
The body is amazing and it looks awesome.
Interior is brown and in great condition for 30 year old Volkswagen.
I have been busy with other cars / projects and just had time to drive this around on a regular basis to get to know the car. Ive listed it locally a few times and no one locally has been interested in this awesome machine so here it is on ebay.
Battery is a u pull it special - when the car sits for a few days - it does NOT hold a charge and needs jumped started. As mentioned i have not driven this car daily to see if driven daily its not an issue or if there is a drain some where - havent looked into it. Only realized it when i went to move it around a few weeks ago.
It starts up and runs / drives - i ran errands with it a few months ago - rolled down windows and loved it. The tires are GOOD might be an older tire but the tread is great and they never go low.
Factory radio w/ the factory manual in the glove box ( missing the adjustment knob to turn up volume )
Overall:
Great project or daily driver or both. Start it up and drive it around ( i have not taken it on highway / interstate )
