This is a very rare pick up bed Dune Buggy. It is the 6th one produced in 1981. From what we have ordered in new parts it seems to be mounted on a 1974 Beetle Chassis with the 1600 Dual Port Motor. The original owner is no longer with us so our information is limited. We found a receipt inside for a new motor, but no date on it.We pulled it out of storage that indicated last receipt in 1994.The top was torn and it will cost 240. for a new one.Needs a new light switch and one headlight. New items include,Carburetor,Ignition Wires,Ignition Switch,Brake Master Cylinder,Battery,Throttle Cable Tube and Cable, and Tires. Labor included cleaning gas tank and brake line, installing new filters, Bleeding Brakes, Tuning Motor and changing oil, Mounting tires after blasting and painting original rims, Coating the entire underside for corrosion proofing.WE have spent more than 5k in purchase and repairs. We are out of money and will now count our losses.We were driving it when we ran out of gas,After getting gas it runs with a prime and then runs out of gas again. The mechanic wants more money to diagnose for sure and then repair fuel pump or filters or clog in tank or whatever it may be. I cant get approval to spend one more cent and stay married. This is a no reserve auction and will need to be towed away.Just registered and have clean clear title in hand.
