I acquired this 67 bug 5 weeks ago. It sat in a garage for 4 years. This bug is not perfect but you will find it difficult to find a nicer one. First off it has virtually NO RUST. The paint is not perfect (see pics) but very nice. The bumpers and trim are pretty close to perfect.
Drivetrain: Lowered tastefully, BMR wheels, like new tires, 1600 motor nicely detailed as you can see, rebuilt tranny. Runs great and stops on a dime. Not sure how a lowered bug is supposed to ride but it feels pretty good to me. Has a short throw SCAT shifter which works smooth and stays in all gears. I have driven this thing a total of about 30 -40 miles. Took it to get the brakes adjusted, tune up, valves adjusted and an oil leak fixed. It still drips a little but they ALL do.
Electrical: Everything works as best I can tell. Has LCD tail lights and some kind of fancy headlight bulbs. Has an extra stop light mounted to the rear bumper. Wipers, gas gauge, tach and speedo etc all work. The temp gauge is not hooked up. Has a retro look digital stereo with 6 CD changer and front and rear speakers. Aux plugs in the glove box to charge your devices while cruising.
Interior: Has nice black seats with no tears, nice gray carpet, custom steering wheel, VDO gauge cluster and shows great. Door panels are in great shape. Has stainless accent kit on doors and kick panels. Headliner good.
Exterior: NO RUST. The only metal that has been replaced is under the battery. There are a couple blemishes in the paint most notable is a thin crack (barely noticeable) in the passenger rear fender. (see pics). The bright work dare I say is as close to perfect as you will find. All rubber appears to have been replaced. The trunk up front is as nice as I have seen.
I have a book of paperwork from new including original owners manual and countless receipts. The previous owner stated he had over $12,000 in the car which I don't question. The reserve on this car is WELL below it's value and someone is going to get an awesome bug. Having said all this the car is 50 years old and because of that it has no warranties written or implied. The car speaks for itself and you are welcome to come drive it or have an independent party check it out. If there are specific pictures you want just let me know but please don't waste your and my time tire kicking. I am not stupid so please don't tell me your "agent" will contact me. Feel free to call (620) 474-0123 with any questions.
