1969 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:
I am selling my race car Bug. It is one of a kind and has been fully caged and converted to all-wheel drive. This is the Bug formerly known as the "Davesport" Bug. When I bought this Bug it had a Type 1 engine in it but it wasn't well suited for this car so I sold it. Originally this car had a 2.8L Type 4 turbo with a Holley 4 barrel draw through. I fully anticipated doing a Subaru 2.5 turbo conversion. I haven't gotten around to it for quite some time and have decided to pass it on. I am hoping to find it a new home where it will be well taken care of. Vehicle is geared to do 120mph in the top of 4th. The following is what I know about the vehicle.

Here's the nitty gritty about this whole deal. This Bug was built sometime in the 1980's by a man named Dave up in the Pacific Northwest. He got a New Beetle in 1998, promptly converted it to AWD and was going to get sponsors etc. until he wrecked it. Before he wrecked the New Beetle, he sold the old Bug chassis and body for $4k and the engine separately for $4k. This is that Bug. When I got it, it came with a title which the seller had me sign. Where I was living at the time, in Colorado, they require 2 VIN numbers for a verification. This Bug only has one VIN plate, in the door jamb. Because of this I could never get the title sorted out and the Bug will be sold with NO TITLE. As a race car, this should not be any problem for the new owner. I will leave the VIN plate on the door, but it is honestly for a 1966 Bug and this is obviously a 68-70 judging by the steering column mount which is original to this car. I do have the SCCA book but it is still in Colorado and will be mailed FedEx to the new owner ASAP. SCCA # is 273039 which is stamped on the cage. This is a nice Bug but it needs work, and obviously an engine. I am selling this Bug to help fund finishing moving the rest of my belongings down from Colorado to Texas. I might regret it but I hope to find it a new owner who will be able to take care of it!!
