1968 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Just for fun Additional Info:

1968 Volkswagen Beetle w/ shortened chassis & Manx style buggy body. Please see my video for thorough details. https://youtu.be/HFOfz76ZnCE

Qualityrestoration that's not quite finished. The chassis is solid & clean with no rust. The shortened pan was done right & looks good. The brakes & steering are all good. The tires are brand spankin' new. All the lights & electrical stuff works b/c all the wiring is new. The paint shows very good with a little sparkle from a mild metal flake. The chrome is like new. The engine has been rebuilt & is fine tuned, starts & runs excellent. It has an IRS Transmission.

I got the car w/ a collection of VW's. The previous owner didn't quite finish the job on. I was gonna do it, but I don't know when I'll get around to it b/c I have too many other projects going on. So I'm gonna let it go like it is & for that reason this 9,000 dollar buggy is going cheap... Here's what it needs....

  • Shift Linkage adjustment... I've spent hours messing with it. Right now it doesn't go in reverse. I had it where it would go in reverse, but then it couldn't find first... I had it where it would shift into first & reverse, but 4th was no where to be found. While working on it, I proved that every gear works just fine, so it's not a transmission problem, just a linkage problem that someone smarter than me will need to figure out.
  • It needs a new fuel tank. The tank is dirty cause it's old. I only start the car occasionally, but I don't drive it.
  • Front end alignment.
  • Safety stuff if you want it... seat belts, wipers, horn, mirrors.
  • Legal Stuff --- The car is a 1968 Volkswagen Chassis, but the great state of North Carolina, wouldn't recognize such a highly modified vehicle as a real Volkswagen, so they applied their own state issue VIN number and renamed it a Custom 2-S and for what ever reason they titled it as a 1994 Custom 2S. Who the heck knows where the 1994 came from, but our governmentis supposed to dostupid things that make no sense. Not only do they want to re-define marriage, now they want to re-define our Volkswagens too. .., but whatever.... it's totally legit in all 50 states now with a state issue vin & a corresponding NC title.

More Legal Stuff.... I'm a licensed car dealer... the law says you have to be sitting here in my office when we do the paper work... If you can not be here, you must agree to sign a North Carolina DMV form called a MVR-63... I can e-mail it to you, you then have to get it signed, notarized & snail mailed back to me, after which, I can sign all the documents on your behalf & send them with the car or certified mail, either way you like.

If you're a wheeler dealer kinda guy and you wanna fix these little odds & ends & then get it authenticated as a real Manx and on the register..., then bid up, you'll make bank.

If you're justhere for fun and happen tolike the Manx style but don't want to pay the Manx price.... then this buggy's for you !

Seriously... look at what others are asking for a Manx style buggy in this good of shape.... $ 8,000 and up all day long.... my reserve is much lower b/c I'm a motivated seller& I'm not just fishing waiting on an impulse buyer with more money than sense, I've priced it so it will actually sell, check out the videos & the pictures, if you have more questions gimmie a call at two five two six one nien 8067
