1976 Volkswagen Bus 2.0L Dual Carb Engine – AC – Original Transporter
I purchased this bus last year from the owner of 5 years. The 2.0L dual carb engine had been rebuilt and runs absolutely amazing. I am told this is the same engine that found its way into the Porsche 914. I had my mechanic go through this bus and he gave it a clean bill of health. He confirmed the engine had been rebuilt along with the carburetors and drove it and came back saying it was definitely a fun bus to drive.
Many items have been added such as the 15” wheels with new tires. I have a set of the original OEM wheels with chrome hubcaps and brand new Hankook white wall tires that can be exchanged for the new 15” wheels if you would prefer.
This bus is perfect for taking on a trip or just to the store or surfing. It has all of its seats with nice newer carpet and all the seats are in nice condition. It has limited rust (see pics) some in the drivers floor board and rear area but is minimal. It is set up for the very RARE AIR CONDITIONING option; it just needs a condenser and any hoses etc but the fan unit works and blows air.
It is currently registered in Washington State and will come with a Washington State Title. I am selling many of my classic vehicles to fund my daughters college education. I have described this bus to the best of my ability and no warranties have been expressed or implied. I would recommend you come and see it or have an independentinspection. As with any 41 year old car it is not perfect and has its leaks and creaks. I think this is a good example of a VW Bus that you can get in and take for a cruise.
