1993 Volkswagen EuroVan Additional Info:
The interior is in great shape. It has the swivel seats, a table, all the cushions, the under seat fridge. It comes with the pop-top which has a couple little tears covered by matching tape. There is surface rust all over underneath but the body is good and has been painted, white to black, no idea why someone would choose black. I bought the van last fall for $6800 from a family that hadn't driven it for 18 months, in wet Seattle. I drove it home, gave it a tune-up, put injector cleaner and new gas in it and drove it around a bit, and it stalled on me. That was 6 months ago. The other day I tested to make sure it was getting fuel to the engine(it was) and spark(it wasn't). I plugged a new coil in and it immediately started!!! First time in 6 months and it fired right up! I cleaned up feeling good about things and the next day, nothing. It must have a corroded lead wire or ground to the coil and I don't know squat about electrical and have lost interest. It seemed like a fun project except I don't have a garage or place to work on it and with limited time off work I've determined I'd rather spend my time in other ways than scratching my head with greasy fingers. I'm setting the reserve at $2500 knowing it needs plenty of TLC. I hope it makes someone a fun weekend trip mobile!Besides fixing the electrical, it needs wheel bearings, a CV boot, relays for the cooling fans, the slider door lock plunger. I bought a new distributor thinking that was the issue but it turned out to be the coil so you have a spare. I have the filters and fluids for a tranny flush and an oil change and never got around to that. I have the Complete shop manuals volumes one and two. It does not currently start so will need to be towed so local pickup only. I have had some interested people so will remove the item immediately and contact the high bidder if someone local wants to buy it.
