1970 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:
Up for a NO-RESERVE auction is this awesome customized 1970 VW Baja Bug. I recently got this VW from an estate sale and am listing it as a no-reserve auction, it will sell to the highest bidder! There has been obviously a great amount of time spent customizing this bug into what you see here. The top was cut off and fully trimmed and smoothed out. A full roll bar was added and incorporated into the window frame. All body seams of the fiberglass fenders were filled and smoothed. The paint still shines up very nice. There is some scratches and scuffs here and there, this is not a show car, but as you can see in the pictures, nothing too bad. The windshield is in great shape, no cracks. It sports a custom made, snap on, vinyl bikini top and rear cargo area cover. It has a full custom made carpet kit. The original front seats were replaced with a set out of another vehicle which are in great shape, no tears or holes, and fully adjustable. The original rear seat is still in place which has some sun damage to the top edge. The original front and rear seat belts were retained. A custom aluminum dash was installed. All gauges including the under-dash tach work except for the oil temp and amp gauge. The odometer reads a little over58,000, no way of knowing the exact mileage though! All exterior lighting including headlights, taillights, blinkers and driving lights work, even the horn works. An old school stereo and door speakers are in place and work great. It appears that some of the wiring behind the dash has been redone and seems to be in good shape. I was told the motor is a 1776cc with a lightened fly wheel and a mild cam. It has a Weber 2 barrel carb on it. The motor runs very strong, sounds great and makes plenty of power. It does have some typical slow oil leaks I believe from the valve covers. It looks very clean with the engine tin painted to match and an aluminum fire wall. All heater components have been removed so there is no heater in this bug. The transmission and clutch all seem to work great. It has disk brakes up front and drums in the rear. The brakes seem to pull to the left when first applied but even out as you continue to press them. Probably a faulty wheel cylinder or uneven brake pads. Besides that, they work good and so does the emergency brake. All 4 tires are in excellent shape along with the very cool turbine wheels.
This is a super cool one-of-a-kind ride that would be perfect for cruising down to the beach! You won't find another one like it, be prepared for alot of attention while driving this one!
