**NOTE** Ebay removed original posting claiming a "misrepresentation" concerning the title. I had "clear" checked on title status even though I thoroughly explained in the narrative the SALVAGE history. I'm sorry folks! In New Jersey, the actual title is the exact same form used whether clear or salvage and you can only tell it is salvage by looking at the "status" designation "S" on one of the lines of the title.

1989 Volkswagon Cabriolet, nice little convertible sportscar needing just a little TLC. Has a regular NJ title with SALVAGE history designated. As such, one can register car for daily road use without issue. Needs a fuel pump. Last on road in the summer. Pretty decent white top, odometer shows 76K miles, automatic transmission, decent tires. One side molding missing, battery may need a charge, expect to tow it home. You do the work and save money and get a great deal on this car which has lots of potential. Check out all the pictures!
I've been informed that the reason for the Salvage history designation on the title was for previous accident damage to driver's door (repaired) and front apron (replaced). Cost of original repairs exceeded value of car (at that time), thus the insurance settlement and salvage history designation on the title. Ebay actually provided me their AutoCheck info about it as follows:
Brand, Date, Location Salvage 07-05-2002 DOVER,DE
Salvage 08-15-2002 SOMERS POINT,NJPleaseremember that this is an "antique" vehicle 28 years old. It needs TLC and is consistent with a vehicle with this mileage, age and use. Car is available for pre-bid inspections and I would always encourage and welcome this. I am proud of my 100% excellent feedback score and always try to give accurate descriptions so that there are no surprises or disappointments. I am open and receptive torealisticoffers considering all that is included.
Those with less than ten (10) or negative feedback history do NOT bid unless you contact me and communicate first, otherwise your bids will be retracted and bidder banned from further bidding. The winning bid is NOT a right of first refusal, but a commitment to purchase the vehicle regardless of anything, so a non-refundable deposit via PayPal is required within 24 hours of auction ending and arrangements to be made for pickup of item. Vehicle is listed "for sale" by other venues and media, so I reserve the right to terminate the listing at any time.
