1967 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:
HISTORY:1967 Vw Beetle we've owned and worked on for since 2010, its been through so many different setups throughout the years we have owned it. The odo has 68k on it but the drivetrain has less than 700miles on it, yes that is not a typo. LESS THAN 700 MILES its brand new and pulls like a damn freight train.
NOT SO GOOD:
- Driverside fender has a crack in it ( see pictures)
- The Left tail light is out
- It's stiff lol
- It's been repainted obviously, but years ago by me and the paint has chips and some cracks. Its a 10 footer looker, looks great from far away, but you'll see the imperfections up close.
- We used to have a roof rack and it left marks near the drip rails
- It was converted to studs and its missing some lugnuts, i still drive it around like this though.
- Needs a new radio deck because the current one is dead
THE GOOD STUFF:
- no rust on the pan or battery tray
- Pre 65 Fenders without sidemarkers
- 2 1/2 Drop spindles
- 2 inch narrowed ADJUSTABLE beam with poly urethane bushings
- New shortened shocks
- New Carpet
- Reupholstered interior 4 years ago lol
- Empi woodgrain steering wheel
- Gene Berg Shifter
- 8inch (i think) sub with amp
- RARE USA MADE 5 SPOKE not empi wheels
ENGINE AND TRANS:
- 1835cc with 69mm counterweighted Crank
- 120 Engle Cam
- 92mm AA Pistons
- I beam rods
- 1.25:1 Ratio Rocker Arms
- 40x25 Heads round ported
- Dual 40 Webers freshly rebuilt
- Sidewinder Exhaust
- PRO STREET 3:88 ring and pinion Transmission built by ron's transaxles in San pablo, CA
- CB straight cut Gears
We are an aircooled vw family so if you buy this car you will get the full rundown on how to service this engine if you wish to do it yourself. This has been our longest owned vw in the family but the one we have spared no expense on the drivetrain as you can tell lol. The engine and trans cost more than 3k. It's a cool bug i still drive it every weekend because its so fun to drive, it is pretty low right now so dont expect for this bug to handle like a soft pillow, its stiff and loud. So if you plan on buying it, please trailer it UNLESS you live in the bay area. If you live in socal or nearby states I may be willing to throw it on a trailer and deliver it to you cheaper than whatever ebay prices show.
Either way, my family loves this bug but as heartbreaking as it is, the time has come to let it go.Happy Bidding!
