Rust free and solid example of an early Beetle painted in the most desirable VW color, Strato Silver. There are few original, 61-year-old VW in the same condition as this car. It has always been a California car with original California Black Plates; to add, being equipped with the rare 3-fold ragtop. New paint job from bare metal on exterior and interior. All original red interior with new German weave carpets and new headliner. The ragtop hardware was replaced and is now sliding with ease. All rubber and white wall tires have been replaced, and the original wheels have new powder coating, as well. All numbers matching car. The entire car is aligned perfectly so doors close with ease.
The car was parked in 2010 and bought in 2014 by the previous owner who went through the engine and brakes, as well as repainting the entire car's exterior and interior. The factory hash marks are still located behind the panels. The engine starts first time, every time, which is quite impressive for a 61-year-old engine.
Sadly, these early Beetles are getting harder and harder to find, especially in such original, unmolested, condition. Also, having the complete owner history from new is very rare.
