1970 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Additional Info:
I have for sale my 1970 VW Bug. I've had it since 2005, when I bought her from her original owner. She was my daily driver for years. Replaced engine, transmission, interior, radio, etc. I'll be upfront, here's the pros and the cons. I wish I didn't have to sell it, but I'm moving up north and this car's better suited for SoCal.
Features:
-Runs well. Highways, stop lights, no problems.-original steering wheel!
-paperwork with DMV all in order. All registration paid.
-painted BMW pepper white, so you'll be able to get matching paint.
-rebuilt engine, 1600CC, with modern air filter and electronic ignition (no vintage points to adjust).
-new "freeway flyer" transmission, so 4th gear is better suited for 70 mph rather than 55 mph.
-modern radio / CD player with USB and aux input and new speakers behind rear seats
-modern 12v electrical outlet for whatever other gadgets you have
-new carpets, head liner, and seats. They look original, just newer.
Improvements needed:
-speedometer guage needs rebuilding or replacing. You'll have to use your gut, your eyeballs, or your cell phone to tell you how fast you're going.
-rear right fender was destroyed in a hit and run. I've got a new black fender on it, ready to be painted, and new tail light attached. There's a bit of body work that could be done.
-transmission isn't able to go into reverse anymore. It goes fine forwards, and is pretty new, but I'm skilled enough to pull it out and fix it. The car is so light you can easily push it backwards if you need to.
