1973 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Automatic / Stick Shift Additional Info:
This Super Beetle was purchased for my mother when she obtained her first driving license at age 65 and was stored after her death. It has been maintained with a new bottom pan, new front seats, newcarpeting, repainted body, rebuilt engine. All the work was done professionally by The Bug Hutt which repairs and sells vintage Beetles. There is no filler, everything is steel. Since the last restoration and engine rebuild about eight years ago it has only been driven sporadically during the summer. Probably no more than three tanks of gas per summer. (we have other toys to drive). The car was recently valued between $8000.00 - $10,000.00 by the restoration shop, and between $7,500.00- $8,000.00 by an insurance appraiser. The insurance appraiser concluded that the body and car seem to be solid and it seems to run fine but is not a show car but a good driver to have fun with. I entered it in a show just for the heck of it and wasawarded Best In Class at September 2016 Delafield American Classic Auto Show.
New front seats. New carpeting. Comments by the appraiser: The body is straight with no dents with a few rust blisters on the door post. Body was repainted when engine was rebuilt by a professional beetle repair shop.Panel gaps and body fit are very good. Finish and paint detail are well done. There are some small nicks and scratches in the paint but nothing serious. The body trim is all in place and in good condition. The bumpers are straight. The unibody and floor pan look solid. (The floor pan was replaced about 2001). Tires are good with no cracks. The front storage compartment looks solid.
The Ebay form insisted on a milage number so I included the 48,990 showing on the broken odometer. I do have a replacement speedometer with working odometer from another Super Beetle, but never got around to installing it after the restoration.
I do not have the means to ship this vehicle so it must be picked up in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.
